Before the ceremony Olivia and Logan did something that set the emotional tone for their entire day. They each wrote anticipation letters to one another, private words capturing everything they were feeling on the morning of their wedding, and exchanged them to read alone before coming together for their first look.

With the first look and private vows behind them we moved straight into portraits around the Tuck'd Inn Farm property and the summer sun had other ideas about making it easy on us. Full bright sunshine across the open property, beautiful for atmosphere but challenging for portrait lighting when you want soft flattering images rather than harsh shadows and squinting eyes.

So we did what we always do. We adapted.

Across the property we found a stunning tree line that gave us exactly what we needed, a beautiful natural backdrop, dappled light filtering through the leaves, and just enough shade to keep the lighting on everyone's faces soft and even. The images from that section of the property are some of our favorites from the entire day. Sometimes the best portrait locations are the ones you find by solving a problem rather than following a plan.

Olivia came into the session with a clear vision for her photos and it showed immediately. She and Logan were naturals in front of the camera, easy to cue, relaxed, and completely comfortable with each other. That combination of a couple who knows what they want and a photographer who knows how to get it there makes for a portrait session that flows from start to finish without a single wasted moment.

While Olivia and Logan took a well deserved break before the ceremony we headed straight to the reception space to photograph the details before guests arrived.

This is something we always try to build into the wedding day timeline and at Tuck'd Inn Farm it was particularly rewarding. The modern barn interior at this venue photographs beautifully — bright, clean, and full of natural light in a way that not all barn venues can claim. Olivia's vision carried through into every detail of the reception space and photographing it untouched meant capturing all of that work exactly as she had imagined it before the evening transformed it into something even more alive.

The Ceremony

The ceremony at Tuck'd Inn Farm was everything a summer outdoor wedding should be, warm, emotional, and completely personal to Olivia and Logan.

One of our favorite details was Olivia's blusher veil. In the light summer breeze it moved in a way that was absolutely stunning to photograph. Those moments where the elements work with you rather than against you, a veil lifting in a gentle breeze, the light catching it just right, are the ones that produce images couples come back to again and again. We made sure to capture those just married portrait moments with the veil and their rings immediately after the ceremony while everything was still fresh and the emotion was still written all over their faces.

Golden Hour, a Swing, and a Song

The reception at Tuck'd Inn Farm had everything you want from a summer wedding celebration — a lively grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, and a dance floor full of people who were clearly having the time of their lives.

But a few moments stood above the rest.

Olivia and Logan had made the decision to shorten their first dance and parent dance songs which is something we always quietly appreciate. Shortened songs keep the energy in the room high, keep guests engaged, and give the dances a natural momentum that a full length song sometimes loses in the middle. It is a small decision that makes a big difference in both the room energy and in how the footage edits together.

Then the groom sang.

Logan had written a song for Olivia and performed it live during the reception. The room was completely still. Every single person was watching and feeling every word. It was the kind of moment that exists outside of the usual wedding day script — entirely personal, entirely them, and completely unforgettable. We were exactly where we needed to be when it happened.

And then during the reception as the golden hour light started doing its thing outside we slipped away with Olivia and Logan for a few minutes to the swing on the Tuck'd Inn Farm property. Just the two of them, the warm summer light, and one of the most naturally beautiful spots on the property. Those images have a quiet magic to them that feels completely separate from the energy of the reception — a private moment in the middle of a celebration that is entirely their own.
