October Wedding at Gillbrook Farms | Megan & Brady

Golden hour couple portraits at a Gillbrook Farms fall wedding.

A wedding at Gillbrook Farms has a way of feeling unhurried and deeply personal from the very first moment of the day, and Megan and Brady's fall celebration was exactly that. Set against the natural beauty of Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania, their wedding was intimate, warm, and full of the kind of genuine moments that remind us why we love this work. With golden hour portraits that stopped us in our tracks and an iconic willow tree as the backdrop for their ceremony, this is a day we will not forget.

We are Josh and Taylor, a husband and wife photography team based in Central Pennsylvania, and days like this one at Gillbrook Farms are exactly what we are here for. Megan and Brady chose photography coverage for their wedding and added a second photographer to their package, giving them more angles, more candid coverage, and a fuller gallery that captured every part of their day simultaneously.

Getting Ready at Gillbrook Farms

The morning began in the bridal suite at Gillbrook Farms, and the space set the tone for the entire day. The suite has a charming cottage feel that is perfectly fitting to the overall vibe of the property, calm, personal, and full of natural character. It was the kind of morning where everything felt unhurried, which made photographing the details and getting ready moments feel completely effortless.

We started with detail flat lays before moving into bridal and bridesmaid portraits. With a guest list and wedding party made up entirely of Megan and Brady's closest friends and family, the morning had an ease and warmth to it that translated beautifully into the images.

Before heading to the ceremony Megan shared a first look with her dad. It was quiet and emotional and exactly the kind of moment that reminds you how much weight a wedding day carries for everyone in the room, not just the couple.

We then moved to the guys for their getting ready coverage, capturing groom and groomsmen portraits before the ceremony began.

Ceremony Under the Willow Tree

The ceremony space at Gillbrook Farms is one of the most naturally stunning we have worked in across Central Pennsylvania. An open, expansive setting with room to move and breathe, and at the center of it all, a single iconic willow tree that serves as the backdrop for the ceremony.

There is something about that willow tree that photographs unlike anything else. The sweeping branches create a natural canopy that frames the couple and the officiant in a way that no man-made backdrop ever could. In October, with the light beginning to soften and the colors of fall just starting to settle in, it was breathtaking.

Megan and Brady chose a traditional ceremony with no first look, which meant seeing each other for the first time at the altar. Having two photographers on a day like this is invaluable for that moment. While one photographer captured Brady's reaction from the front as Megan came down the aisle, the second was positioned behind to capture her perspective coming toward him. Two angles, one unrepeatable moment, both preserved.

Family, Bridal Party, and Golden Hour Portraits

After the ceremony we moved into family portraits and full bridal party photos, and the timing could not have been better. Golden hour was just beginning to settle across the property and the light was absolutely glowing. With a smaller, intimate wedding party everything moved efficiently and left us with plenty of time to make the most of that light.

Couple portraits around the Gillbrook Farms property during fall golden hour are something we will talk about for a long time. The warm glow of the late afternoon sun against the natural landscape of the farm gave every image a depth and richness that only October light in Central Pennsylvania can produce. And of course we made sure to bring Megan and Brady back to the willow tree for portraits. That tree deserved more than one appearance in their gallery.

When you add a second photographer to your coverage this part of the day becomes even more dynamic. While one of us was directing the couple and capturing portraits, the second was moving freely to document candid reactions, the bridal party laughing, the details of the property, and the moments happening in between the posed frames.

Barn reception at Gillbrook Farms wedding in Warriors Mark PA.

Reception in the Barn

The reception moved inside to the barn at Gillbrook Farms, a beautifully warm and intimate space that felt completely fitting to the day. Warmly lit and full of character, the barn had the kind of atmosphere that makes a reception feel like a celebration rather than an event.

Megan and Brady's first dance set the tone for an evening that was full of joy and energy. The cake cutting followed and then something we always love to see, a photo hop around the room so they had at least one photo with every guest. For an intimate wedding like this one it felt especially meaningful.

The dollar dance brought out the full Pennsylvania polka energy that anyone who has been to a Central PA wedding will immediately recognize. It is one of those traditions that fills a dance floor and fills a room with laughter all at once.

Our favorite moment of the reception happened when Megan and Brady slipped away from the dance floor for just a couple of minutes. We brought them over to a couch tucked beneath a light up sign that read "you + me" and stole a few quiet portraits just for them. Two minutes away from the celebration, completely themselves, completely present. Those images are some of our favorites from the entire day.

Why We Love a Gillbrook Farms Wedding

Gillbrook Farms is one of those venues that feels completely natural and completely itself. The bridal suite has a cottage charm that makes getting ready feel calm and personal. The ceremony space is open and expansive with room to move and photograph freely. And that willow tree is unlike anything else we have seen at a Central Pennsylvania wedding venue. It is iconic in the best possible way.

The barn reception space is warm, intimate, and full of the kind of character that a purpose-built event space simply cannot replicate. For couples who want a wedding that feels rooted in Central Pennsylvania, relaxed and natural and genuinely personal, Gillbrook Farms delivers that in every corner of the property.

We also love that the venue lends itself so naturally to a full day of varied photography. From the cottage bridal suite to the willow tree ceremony to the golden hour portraits across the farm to the warmly lit barn reception, every part of the day looks and feels completely different. That variety makes for a gallery that tells the full story of the day rather than one that all starts to look the same.

If you are planning a Gillbrook Farms wedding and looking for a photography team who knows this venue and loves it, we would love to be considered. Take a look at our Central Pennsylvania wedding portfolio to see more of our work at venues across the region.
