The Everly Mentor Ohio Wedding | Erin & Hunter

Golden Hour couple wedding portraits at The Everly in Mentor Ohio.

August weddings have a certain energy to them, and Erin and Hunter’s The Everly Mentor Ohio wedding carried that feeling from the very beginning of the day. Excitement built slowly in the morning, laughter echoed through their getting ready space, and by the time guests arrived, the celebration already felt fully alive.

We are Josh and Taylor, a husband and wife photography and videography team who document weddings throughout Pennsylvania, the East Coast, and beyond. Celebrations like this one remind us why we value venues that allow a wedding day to unfold naturally in one place. The Everly provided the flexibility, communication, and variety of backdrops that made it easy for Erin and Hunter to stay present while we preserved each moment intentionally.

From a champagne pop at their Airbnb to a sunset portrait session by the pond and a dance floor that never slowed down, their wedding day reflected both thoughtful planning and spontaneous joy.

Getting Ready at a Nearby Airbnb

Erin and Hunter chose to begin their wedding day at a nearby Airbnb that featured two separate sides of the home. The layout allowed both halves of the bridal party to get ready comfortably without any concern of seeing each other, honoring their decision to keep their first look traditional at the ceremony.

The morning atmosphere felt relaxed and full of anticipation. We photographed the details like their vow books, wedding invitations, and rings while the girls enjoyed hair and makeup. Dressed in matching pajamas, they gathered for a champagne toast that quickly turned into an epic champagne bottle pop moment that everyone will remember.

Meanwhile, the guys kept the energy light by watching football and spending time together before heading to the venue later in the afternoon to get dressed. Having distinct spaces for both groups created a smooth and unhurried start to the day.

Arrival and Final Preparations at The Everly

Both sides of the bridal party traveled to The Everly in a party bus, adding excitement as the day transitioned from preparations to ceremony. Once onsite, Erin and Hunter each finished getting ready in separate spaces before portraits began.

We captured individual portraits of Hunter with his groomsmen, followed by Erin with her bridesmaids, ensuring each group had dedicated time before guests began to arrive.

Before the ceremony, we photographed the untouched outdoor ceremony space and the indoor reception setup. Preserving those pristine details is always a priority, and when a wedding takes place entirely at one venue, it becomes much easier to document everything intentionally. The Everly’s team communicated clearly about when spaces were ready and when guests would begin entering, which allowed us to capture those important images without interruption.

Outdoor Ceremony at The Everly

Erin and Hunter’s ceremony took place outdoors beneath bright August skies. The setting felt elegant and inviting, perfectly suited for a summer wedding in Mentor, Ohio.

Honoring tradition, they saw each other for the first time as Erin walked down the aisle. The anticipation built throughout the day made that moment even more emotional. Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged vows and were pronounced husband and wife before celebrating with a joyful dip kiss as they walked back down the aisle together.

It was the perfect ending to a heartfelt ceremony and the beginning of an unforgettable evening.

Golden Hour Portraits and Scenic Backdrops

Following the ceremony, we guided family and the full bridal party to the back of the building where a beautiful brick backdrop created a timeless setting for formal portraits. The timing aligned perfectly with golden hour, adding warmth and dimension to each image.

While guests returned inside to enjoy cocktail hour, we took Erin and Hunter around the property for their couple portraits. The Everly offers a variety of scenic locations within walking distance. A peaceful pond and open grassy area provided soft, romantic backdrops, while a tree covered paved path behind the venue added texture and depth to their gallery.

Having multiple portrait locations onsite made the experience efficient while still offering visual variety.

Reception Celebration

As guests entered the reception space, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode. Erin and Hunter began the evening with their cake cutting, which quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the night.

In a perfectly candid and unscripted moment, Hunter fed himself a bite of cake before realizing they were meant to feed each other. The laughter that followed created genuine, joyful photographs that reflect how personal and relaxed their day truly felt.

They shared their first dance before opening the floor to their guests, and the energy carried throughout the night. Friends and family filled the dance floor, celebrating wholeheartedly and creating the kind of atmosphere every couple hopes for.
