Meet Josh and Taylor — The Team Behind JTR Media
If you are here, you are probably trying to figure out who we are before you decide whether to reach out. We think that is exactly the right instinct! We are Josh and Taylor, a husband and wife photography and videography team based in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and this is our story.
How It All Started
We have been together since high school, which means we have spent a long time figuring out how to work alongside each other, communicate honestly, and show up for each other in the ways that matter. That foundation is at the core of everything we do at JTR Media.
In 2015, just a week after getting married, we packed up our lives in Central Pennsylvania and moved to Orlando, Florida. It was a big leap and an exciting one. We were newly married, living somewhere completely new, and slowly figuring out what we wanted to build together.
That Christmas, Josh gave Taylor a Sony mirrorless camera. She had always enjoyed taking photos on her phone and had mentioned offhand that she would like to try a real camera someday. That gift changed everything.
Finding Our Footing
What started as a genuine love for capturing moments grew quickly into something more intentional. Taylor dove into photography, paying close attention to light, composition, and emotion. Josh had already developed a deep passion for videography through editing travel videos and capturing the world around us. Together we started photographing and filming families, seniors, couples, and engagements, building a portfolio and learning with every single session.
Our first seven weddings were video only. Looking back that was one of the best things that could have happened to us. As a team we were able to cover every angle and make sure nothing was missed while we found our footing in the wedding world. Taylor served as second videographer at those early weddings, and while Josh led the video coverage she spent that time closely observing experienced wedding photographers, studying their flow, their timing, and how they moved through a wedding day.
That education was invaluable.
When our first wedding photography inquiry came along it was for a family member who trusted our portrait work and wanted photo only coverage. Because we already had a personal relationship with the bride, the groom, and both families, everything felt natural and relaxed from the start. We still did extensive research and education leading up to that day because even with video experience we understood that photographing a wedding required its own preparation. We approached it the same way we approach every wedding today — with intention and care.
That wedding helped build our portfolio and from there things really started moving. With each wedding our knowledge grew, our confidence grew, and our connection to this work deepened in ways we did not fully expect.
Why We Came Home
After years in Orlando we made the decision to move back to Central Pennsylvania. The honest reason is simple — we love to travel, we love adventure, but we are also small town people at heart. Our dogs needed a yard. We needed the kind of quiet that only comes from being home. Orlando gave us so much, including our start in the wedding industry, our Disney connections, and years of experiences that shaped how we see and capture the world. But Central PA is where we belong.
Being based here has also shaped the kind of business we have built. We are not a large studio. We are not a company that books weddings and sends whoever is available. When you reach out to JTR Media you get us, the same two people who built this from a Christmas camera gift and a shared love of storytelling.
What Drives Us Every Day
We are a couple but we are also best friends, and we think that matters more than people realize. The way we communicate, the way we move through a wedding day together, the way we genuinely enjoy being in the same room — all of that translates into how we work with the couples who trust us with their day.
We are drawn to couples who have that same kind of close connection. It does not matter how you met or how your relationship unfolded. What matters is that you have something real, and that you want it documented in a way that reflects exactly that.
Every gallery we deliver, every wedding film we edit, every email we send — it all comes back to the same thing. We care about this work and we care about the people we do it for. That has been true since the very beginning and it is still true today.
